Statutory Instruments and Rules of Court
SIs by name and number, the Welsh and Scottish series, and the CPR family cited without their SI numbers.
Statutory instruments
An SI cites its name (year included), then a comma, then the SI number (r 2.5.1). Scottish instruments take SSI, Northern Ireland statutory rules take SR, and pre-1948 instruments take SR & O (rr 2.5.5–2.5.6). Welsh instruments append their Welsh number in brackets (r 2.5.4). Pinpoint with reg, art or r (r 2.5.2).

The CPR, CrPR and FPR — and the old RSC and CCR — are cited without SI number or year (r 2.5.3). Practice Directions take PD and the number of the part they supplement.
